Lythgoe: Fox cutting 'Dance' to 1 hour

Fox is reducing coming back unscripted series "Which Means You Think You Are Able To Dance" to 1 episode each week, based on the series' executive producer, Nigel Lythgoe, who broke this news to fans on his Twitter account on Sunday. "Fox has cancelled the outcomes show and so i will need to alter the format of 'SYTYCD,'" Lythgoe tweeted. "A minimum of we've another season in the finish of May." A speaker for Fox couldn't read the network's decision. The elimination would open an hour or so of primetime property on Fox's summer time schedule that has not been available within the last eight seasons. When a vital tentpole of Fox's summer time schedule that opened the evening following the finale of "The American Idol Show,Inch "SYTCD" rankings have faded through the years, calculating about 5 million total audiences over its past two seasons. Fox programming chief Kevin Reilly indicated captured he was keen to obtain more scripted fare on throughout the summer time but has not revealed any sort of such project. What's going to replace "SYTYCD" has not been determined. "SYTCD" typically has one episode by which its ballroom dancers perform to retain their just right the series, adopted the following evening with a results show where the fate from the ousted dancer is revealed. Exactly how that format is going to be tweaked to 1 hour each week has not yet been determined. "Don't be concerned 'SYTYCD' fans," Lythgoe added via Twitter. "I am thrilled you will find there's new series. We'll do good to locate some good talent beginning in a few days in Atlanta." While other lengthy-running unscripted series including "Idol" and ABC's "DwtsInch happen to be running two episodes each week, the format has attracted experts who knock them for padding an hour or so of primetime with content that may be easily sent in faster fashion. 19 Entertainment and Dick Clark Prods. produce "SYTYCD."
